Signup Requirements
1) Join the Speedy Speedrun Discord server so we can communicate with you: https://discord.gg/CmBGEyN
2) Please read through the Speedy Speedrun Runner Notes if you haven't already.
3) You must have completed at least 1 Super Mario Odyssey Any% run, and therefore have a PB.
4) Please make sure that your Discord and Challonge names are similar enough or the same so that we know who is who. Soon after joining the tourney, you will get a role in the discord and be able to see the tourney channel.
Speedy Speedrunner Notes
- Please be ready and start your stream about 15-20 minutes before your race starts so the restreamer can set things up.
- The restreamer will create a discord group chat with the runners and commentators. All communication will be done in the group chat including the countdown for the race.
- All restreamers will be using the Speedy Speedrun discord account. We will be sending you a friend request with this account once the tournament starts. Please accept this friend request so that once your match happens, we can easily make the group DM.
- Both runners can join a post race “call/interview” with the commentators after they finish. Please be nice and respectful during the interviews.
- Do not end your stream until after the post race interviews are over, unless you need to.
What your streaming layout should be:
- If possible, please use our Speedy Speedrun layout: SpeedySpeedrun Layout
- For this layout, put your gameplay and timer in the space shown.
- If you can’t use this layout, then just include your game feed and timer as usual. Make sure your timer doesn’t cover any of your gameplay.
- If you can’t include a timer then just include your gameplay and the restreamer will include a timer for you on the stream.
Streaming
All races will be streamed to our Speedy Speedrun Twitch channel. Again, make sure to read the Speedy Speedrun Runner Notes to find information on what your layout should consist of. You must stream on Twitch.
Scheduling
You must talk to your opponent and decide on a date and time to race at. After you both agree on a date and time, one of you should submit it to the match submission form. You must submit the form a minimum of 24 hours before your date and time unless told otherwise. If you need to reschedule your race for whatever reason, message a Speedy Speedrun staff member.
If there are no restreamers available at your requested time, you and your opponent can either reschedule or choose to do your race offline. If doing your race offline, you must still stream it at the same time your race was going to be at and afterward send the VOD of your match to a Speedy Speedrun staff member on discord so we can still restream your match at a later time.
Seeding
Seeding for this tournament will be based off of the runners' Any% PBs. When signing up, you will be asked to give your PB. If you end up beating this PB before registration closes, let a Speedy Speedrun staff member know in the tourney channel in the discord. Proper seeding will take place on November 22nd. The way the bracket looks now will NOT be how the bracket actually looks once the tournament starts.

As stated above, it is HIGHLY recommended that you do at least 1 run of the randomizer if you haven't already. We will be using Minibeast's randomizer which you can download here.It is also HIGHLY recommended that you get familiar with the moon names if you haven't already. ("All Moons" runs or "Darker Side" runs are good for getting familiar with the moon names. If you have any questions on how to download the randomizer or how it works, feel free to ask in either the SMO Speedrunning discord or the Speedy Speedrun discord.
Note: The moons in each kingdom can be collected in any order. They do NOT have to be collected in the order they are listed. Also, if you accidentally get a wrong moon, just ignore that moon and continue getting the correct moons (you will then have 1 extra moon at the end or however many incorrect moons you picked up).[1]

Rules
Welcome to the Super Mario Odyssey Bingo Tournament! The tournament is open to players of all skill levels. The category is Triple Bingo. The rules to Triple Bingo is to fill out 3 rows/columns of the bingo card generated for the match. To participate you will need to be able to stream your gameplay. SpeedRunsLive.com will be used for the official timing, however admins may make exceptions depending on the situation. Please familiarize yourself with the rules there. You will be expected to join a Discord server (https://discord.gg/TPSmwTW), which we will use as our main source of communication. The matches will be streamed, with commentary, to the SpeedGaming Twitch channels (twitch.tv/SpeedGaming, SpeedGaming2, SpeedGaming3, SpeedGaming4).
Couple of race rules:
1. Racer is finished once they have completed 3 total rows/columns/diagonals (for example, 2 rows and 1 diagonal are completed).
2. Clips are banned UNLESS both racers allow it for their race.
3. Racers MUST mark their goal on the bingo card. A commentator will help verify the card but it is the racers' responsibility.
Players may choose when they want to do their matches -- you have April to May to schedule your group-stage matches, so you may choose what times/days your matches occur.
The tournament format is Round Robin with 4-person groups, followed by a single elimination bracket. Players are divided into groups of 4. All players in that group play each other. The top 2 players in each group advance to the second stage (single elim). Ties are broken by (1) number of wins vs tied participants, followed by (2) fastest time in the tournament. Seeding into the Round Robin stage is done by PB rank according to the Speedrun.com Leaderboards when signups close. Runners with no PB will be randomized and placed at the bottom of the seeding. Runners who want to submit a PB that is not on the leaderboard must contact the tournament organizers with a video before the deadline.
The semi-finals, finals, and bronze matches will be "best of 3" -- a player must win 2 races against their opponent (so either 2 or 3 races will be played).
Since Super Mario Odyssey is so new, the organizers reserve the right to modify the category rules in response to new glitches, discoveries, and updates. We will announce any changes in the Discord server.[2]

Rules
Beat the game as fast as possible.
Timing begins when selecting "Start" on a new file and ends when you shoot out of the electric wire in the escape sequence.
RTA timing is used meaning runs must be completed within one sitting and the timer cannot be paused at any point in the run.
All runs require video proof (with audio).
Runs must be done entirely with your switch in docked or undocked mode, you may not switch between the 2 mid run.
Use of Amiibo, Luigi's Balloon World, and Assist Mode is banned.
