Phil Hughes

Phil "Dark Avenger" Hughes was the fifth Champion of Perfect Dark, first climbing onto the throne in March of 2002. Though that reign lasted only 2 days, he made a comeback that resulted in a 79 day Championship starting in April of that year. To this date, Phil remains the only player to manage a first place ranking in Perfect Dark without the use of an NTSC console (a fact he likes to constantly remind everyone of).

Phil is also famous for winning the UK's Nintendo Championship in 2001 and coming close several other years. However, his controversial Goldeneye multiplayer strategy (aka getting one kill then running away the rest of the match while saying "tick tock, tick tock") quickly made him the most hated gamer in the competition. In recent years, similar circumstances have resulted in him becoming one of England's most talented, and disliked, pool players. Sadly he has never been able to do well in tournaments outside the UK, blaming the use of NTSC billiards tables.
