== The Update ==
On July 16, 2023 at 10:00PM EST, site staff [[Camcorder]] created a new news article<ref>https://www.speedrun.com/news/94vwp28y-welcome-to-the-new-speedrun</ref> on [[Speedrun.com]] talking about new changes for the site. Elo had two main objectives for the new site. 1; Better serve the communities and users on Speedrun. 2; Make it easier and faster for us to continue delivering on goal 1. They made 15+ major changes to the site including a new text editor, the ability to follow other users, and a new "fresh" look to the site. 

The update brought major backlash with it. Most users that commented disliked the update. A comment from [[Chrepuhon]] explains what many users were also thinking. "As for me it looks useless and disgusting at the same time. I will have to get used to these changes that ruined some things on our Happy Wheels leaderboards." Though, there was also some positive feedback. A comment from [[1]] explains things the minority of users agreed on. "I think for the first time ever I am actually impressed. As a software dev I know how big of an undertaking a complete reworking of a site like this is and I want to say good job! I did of course find a whole lot of bugs within the first 5 minutes but this is still so much better than I would have ever expected from you guys."

== 1st Bug Fixes And Improvements ==
On July 27, 2023 at 12:00AM EST, site staff [[Meta]] created a new news article<ref>http://new%20news%20articlehttps://www.speedrun.com/news/wd5l9o59-new-speedrun-bug-fixes-improvements</ref>. The article talked about 55 bug fixes and improvements for the site including fixed milliseconds, correct times, fixed bilibili video embeds, and added about tabs to profiles. Most comments explained more bugs that still needed to get fixed, or more improvements users would like to see get added. 

== 2nd Bug Fixes And Improvements ==
On July 28, 2023 at 2:30PM EST, site staff [[Meta]] created a comment inside the same news article made the day before. This comment included 15+ bug fixes and improvements including fixed banned users submitting runs, improved using platform names instead of URLs in leaderboard filters, and fixed leaderboard sorting by “Time” column not working. Many users still commented about more bugs that needed to be fixed.

== Bug Fixes And Improvements In Forums ==
On July 18, 2023 at 2:35AM EST, site staff [[Camcorder]] created a forum post<ref>https://www.speedrun.com/posts/ajhaw</ref> in the [https://www.speedrun.com/forums/the_site/ebj23? Welcome To New Speedrun - Feedback Thread] talking about bug fixes and improvements including fixing permission issues, increasing the max following users to 200, and fixed YouTube social links. 

On July 19, 2023 at 4:19PM EST, site staff [[Camcorder]] created a forum post<ref>https://www.speedrun.com/posts/6cup7</ref> in the same thread talking about 32 new bug fixes and improvements including improving forum layouts, series mods being able to add games, and the splits.io URL being fixed. 

On July 21, 2023 at 3:15PM EST, site staff [[Camcorder]] created a forum post <ref>https://www.speedrun.com/posts/vaiot</ref> in the same thread talking about 31 new bug fixes and improvements including added an about tab to users profiles, allowing pan and zoom on WR history charts, and fixed broken bilibili embeds.

On July 28, 2023 at 2:13PM EST, site staff [[Meta]] created a forum post<ref>https://www.speedrun.com/posts/45kxj</ref> in the same thread talking about 14 new bug fixes and improvements including adding missing audit log filters, tweaking the styling of users about pages, and fixed resource deletion not doing anything.
