Background
Gimkit: Don't Look Down is a gamemode on the website "Gimkit". The gamemode is inspired by the game "Only Up". Don't Look Down was released on October 29th, 2023.
Gimkit: Don't Look Down was added to speedrun.com on November 2nd, 2023.
History
The main category on the leaderboard is Any% (Pre-Physics Change). It was later changes due to a physics change in the character, causing a new cateogry called Any%. Any% (Pre-Physics Change) is still the most popular category even after the new category was made. There are currently 67 runners in the Pre-Physics Change category. The world record started with a time of 8m 24s by Blackhole927 on October 31st, 2023. The run happened before the leaderbaord was made. The actual date this run was submitted on was November 5th, 2023.
On November 1st, a new runner by the name of roblockcornerclipper submitted their first run to the leaderboard with a time of 7m 57s. Every single new world record since then has been held by roblockcornerclipper (exept for retrozy on November 24th and December 31st) and currently has the world record in that category with a time of 6m 24s 133ms.
The leaderboard is very popular with younger speedrunners.
