Backstory
Dadish is a 2D platformer developed by Thomas K. Young. It is a simplistic pixel-style adventure game, and the first instalment in the Dadish series. [1]
History
Dadish was added to speedrun.com on February 25th, 2020[2]. The first run accepted to the leaderboard was All Worlds - Any%, Mobile, Possum Mode by Retrograde. A few other notable mobile runners started to run Dadish in March of the same year like zir0nic and kyraa, but a user named Mr_Poggers started to run mostly all of the individual levels and some full game runs. He would continue to run Dadish until a new competitor arrived and started also running mainly individual levels. Emrald started running Dadish in April of the same year. Neropse also followed Emrald's path of completing all of the individual levels. More notable mobile speedrunners gained insight to Dadish helping the community grow even faster. Many of these early runners set the stage for new players joining and many old records in the individual levels set by emrald still stand as multi-record ties today.
There are 3 different category splits for the type of platform you ran on. They are Mobile, Consoles/PC, and Web (Ususally played on POKI). The categories are very split and runners who run on one platform, usually don't run on any other ones. SunShard is dominant in the Mobile category, Taekwondonuts is dominant in the Consoles/PC category, and GrandMasterMario5000 is donimant in the Web category for Individual Levels. GrandMasterMario5000 also had multiple full game world records in the Consoles/PC category.
